Norwich City footballer Tom Trybull and his author wife Anna have been getting stuck into the Premier League Writing Stars poetry competition by visiting White Woman Lane Junior School in Norwich.
To celebrate this year’s Premier League Writing Stars competition, Anna and Tom Trybull spent some time with Year 5 pupils at White Woman Lane Primary School, getting involved in a poetry lesson led by the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation.
Anna has recently published her new children’s book, The Story of Tommy T., which is based upon Tom’s life and his footballing career. The pair were, therefore, perfectly placed to get pupils excited about tackling the new competition theme of ambition.
After listening to the pupils’ poems, Tom and Anna discussed the personal goals and aspirations that they had written about. Tom felt that writing poems were a great way to encourage pupils to dream big and demonstrate their own unique feelings, with Anna stating: “It’s nice to see such young kids already having a dream.”
There’s still time to get your school involved in Premier League Writing Stars this year! Download a competition pack to find out more and submit your pupils’ poems by 20 March 2020. We can’t wait to hear your writing stars’ ambitions!
